Cars and Coffee

Cars and CoffeeSM originated in Atlanta, Georgia in May of 2001. The very first Cars and CoffeeSM show took place in the parking lot of a Roswell, Georgia Coffee House. As it was the first of its kind it was also the first to begin early in the morning as many shows would begin late morning and run through the day or begin as an evening cruise-in after 6 pm.
Many Atlanta car enthusiasts would come to Cars and CoffeeSM very early just to get the best parking space and arrive as early as 6 am to park and warm up on a cool Georgia morning with a hot cup of coffee. As the event grew it drew a variety of car enthusiasts that included sports cars, muscle cars and vintage cars. It was not unusual to see a Z28 Camaro parked next to a Cord or Duesenberg in the midst of Ferrari's, Lotus Espirit's, Jaguars and MG's.
There are now a few versions in other areas of the country including one in southern California in Irvine. This one takes place at the PAG Campus, the Ford - Premier Automotive Group - Mazda Campus in Irvine, California. Many southern California car enthusiasts regularly visit the event every Saturday morning.
These outdoor events usually don’t require an entrance fee as the gathering is comprised of car enthusiasts who meet to socialize and enjoy their enthusiasm with other car owners and "car enthusiasts".
It's not known if there is a regularly accepted, generalized term for these informal "car rallies" or "car enthusiast" events. Some meeting events have themes, such as exotic cars, classic cars, hot rods, etc.

This is a "car show" event that runs every Friday night from 5:00pm to 8:30pm beginning May 18, 2007 through September 28, 2007 in Redondo Beach CA

On the last Saturday of the month every month cars from the San Diego and Orange County areas gather in Carlsbad, California in Northern County San Diego.
