Carlos Fernando Navarro Montoya (born in Medellín, Colombia on February 26, 1966 ), is a professional footballer, who has played club football in Argentina, Colombia, Spain, Chile and Brazil. He was born in Colombia, but is now a naturalized Argentinian.

Navarro Montoya is nicknamed El Mono (The Monkey) in Argentina[1], at the age of 41 he is not the talent he used to be, but he is still remembered fondly by many clubs including Boca Juniors where he played a total of 400 games in all competitions. He also set two club records, 180 consecutive games for the club and 824 minutes without conceding a goal.

As a naturalized Argentine, Navarro Montoya wanted to play for Argentina but was denied from doing so by FIFA because he had played for Colombia in the qualifiers for the 1986 World Cup. In 1998 FIFA relented and allowed him special dispensation to play for Argentina but at the Age of 32 he was considered too old and never got the opportunity to represent his adopted nation.
