Talk:BMC ADO17
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The illustration in the info box is actually a mis-named image file since it's a Morris not an Austin! Since the article's titled "Austin", I think it would cause less confusion to be sure the pic has an Austin badge! I'll see if I can find a (c)-free image. (My own pics are of my own Morris which doesn't help ;) But if anyone else has one... – Kieran T (talk | contribs) 15:48, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Official Austin 1800 Landcrab Owners Club Australasia website
Greetings,
I have a website devoted to the Australian Austin 1800. The website is completely funded by the Landcrab Owners Club Australasia (LOCA) and is dedicated to the Austin 1800.
Although considered by many as an english car, the Austin 1800 was completely built in Zetland, NSW, Australia and had many modifications that differed to the UK model, Morris 1800.
The Rotodip (anti-rust) Process was a unique system and was designed and used on a number of BMC cars and also the Austin 1800 utility in Australia.

[edit] The Longbridge conveyor
"A design oversight meant that the car was too wide to be transported down a covered track between different parts of the Longbridge plant. Consequently unpainted body-shells were exposed to the elements when they were moved between buildings. This often resulted in poor quality paint-work and inherent rust."
This is an urban myth so I have removed it. See "The time tunnel - 1971-2006" at http://www.austin-rover.co.uk/. Malcolma 17:48, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
