[edit] Category:Doctor Who comic creators
Just a note to say Category:Doctor Who comic creators probably won't last. There was a crack down on categories of creators by project/firm and the 2000 AD one was put up for deletion. I voted keep and was surprised when it wasn't deleted and suspect it wouldn't survive a second deletion round. Anyway just a headsup so a CfD doesn't come out of the blue. If it is nominated your best bet is to copy and paste the cat and aim to produce a "List of Doctor Who comic creators" in case things don't go your way (it is what I did last time).
Anyway good work on the Doctor Who comics. (Emperor 17:05, 2 September 2007 (UTC))
- Yes I find that people can come in quoting policy and throwing their weight around and the trick is to be able to spot when such claims are hollow. The creators cat is tricky as there is a general consensus against this (it is part of a broader "people by project" concern which also impacts superheroes by team) - which is a pity as it is a useful category but for some creators who have worked for dozens of companies it could lead to run away categorisation resulting in them not being too helpful in the end. It is a tricky one.
- I was thinking about separate entries for the comics. There are plenty of precedents and different approaches e.g. Hellboy: Seed of Destruction and List of Ultimate Spider-Man story arcs. Coincidentally I have dropped in a note on a template for trade paperbacks/graphic novels [1] which would be useful in such circumstances. However, they'd need to satisfy WP:N so reviews and analysis (is there for example a book analysing the Doctor Who output? Note the Sandman companion and I have found David A. McIntee's Alien and Predator book useful for the relevant comics e.g. Aliens vs. Predator. Might be worth mocking them up first in your sandbox. (Emperor 11:58, 3 September 2007 (UTC))
[edit] 1915 FA Cup Final
Thanks for your updates to the Sheffield 1915 FA Cup Final player stubs. It took me ages to set them and the Chelsea players ones up and it's great to see them expand slowly --Gmac101 (talk) 12:58, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
I have a confession: I'm not a Blades fan. I got interested in this because George Utley was my Great Great Uncle. So I was thinking about doing some work on the 1910 & 1912 finals next and the rather disasterous England-Ireland match which Utley played in, but I hope to add more to the 1915 final in the future and I now keep an eye on the Blades results. I'm sorry to see the chaos in the boardroom at the moment - not normally good for results --Gmac101 (talk) 12:32, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
Some great updates to the Utley article. It seems he had a keen idea of his value to a club. In the 1915 cup final programme they mention his 1913 tranfer fee so it must have caused quite a stir. Then managing to get another £1000 pounds out of the club a few years later was no mean feat. Good luck in the replay - It looks like Barnsley have refound a bit of the Utley grit though --Gmac101 (talk) 13:02, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

The task force dedicated to creating and improving articles on all German cities and municipalities is happy to announce that there are now (at least) stub articles for all municipalities of Germany. Now the task force is looking for help in fleshing these out a little bit. The current phase of activity for the task force is to copy in infoboxes from the articles in German Wikipedia. If you want to help, even just for a few articles, look at the instructions and links here
There are now way over 26.000 articles tagged as part of our Wikiproject and many still need either an importance or a quality assessment. Also there are many more out there that do need to be tagged like approx 8000 municipalities. If you would like to help take a browse through Articles needing Importance assessment or Articles needing a basic quality assessment. |

- Congratulations - you placed that deletion notice within seconds of me publishing that article - which was only moving information someone else had placed withing another article. Judging by your edit history deletion is the key aim of your existance. Keep up the good work!! 22:37, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
