IMDb profile

Bette is a CBS television show which premiered on October 11, 2000, lasting one season, with Bette Midler playing herself - a "divine celebrity" who is adored by her fans. There were several similarities to Bette's actual career through the show's run, and many of her celebrity friends appeared as themselves during the show's short run. Guest stars included Danny DeVito, George Segal, Sharon Lawrence, Tim Curry, David James Elliott, Oprah Winfrey, Tony Danza, Dolly Parton, Olivia Newton-John, Lindsay Lohan, Jon Lovitz, and the ladies from The View all as themselves. The Halloween episode featured Dolly Parton as herself, with her and Bette filming a TV special. Bette ended up getting Dolly arrested after stealing one of Dolly's outfits and going trick or treating dressed as Dolly. The pilot episode featued Lindsay Lohan as Bette's daughter Rose, the role was then replaced with Marina Malota for the regular run of the series.

The show's 16 episodes aired Wednesday nights, until its cancellation. There were two episodes that went unaired on network TV, but the last two episodes were aired in HDTV in which it was simulcast.
