[edit] Plot
Benji has become stranded in a remote island during a boating accident. He finds himself struggling to survive, avoiding close encounters with a wolf, a bear, a human hunter who catches him trying to steal his meat, and a territorial female cougar with her cub.
He eventually encounters four orphaned cougar cubs, which he takes care of. A wolf pursuing the cubs and, perhaps Benji, is one of the main highlights of the film. In one of the films more tragic scenes, one of the cubs gets carried off by an eagle.
Benji later tries to catch up with the female cougar he encountered earlier with the intention of leaving the three remaining cubs in her care.
[edit] Cast and crew
Director: Joe Camp
Actors: Benjean (daughter of Higgins) as Benji, Red Steagall, Frank Inn
This was the last Benji movie to star Benjean in the title role. The plot took advantage of the fact that although the character she played was male, she was a female, and she was able to convey tender motherly feelings for other small animals.[citation needed]
