[edit] Baltimore Ravens
Scott was originally signed by the Baltimore Ravens as a rookie free agent on April 25 2002. In his rookie season he played in all 16 regular season games and posted five tackles and one interception. He made his NFL debut at the Carolina Panthers on September 8. In the following season he again played in all 16 games and one post season contest. His 19 special teams tackles ranked 2nd in the team. In 2004 he played in 13 games making 17 special teams tackles.
Scott saw significant playing time during the 2005 season in which Ray Lewis injured his hamstring, playing in all 16 games and making 10 starts. He played in Lewis' absence at the middle linebacker position. He finished the season with 119 tackles. Scott signed a three year contract extension with the Ravens, though the Cleveland Browns offered him more money. With the departure of Adalius Thomas, he is now starting LOLB/MLB for the Ravens, depending on which defense they're in. Ravens are known to play 4-3, 3-4, and 46 defenses. In 2006 he was second on the team in tackles with 135, he has also recorded 9.5 sacks and two interceptions. He played at the Pro Bowl in Hawaii as an alternate after being elected to replace his teammate Ray Lewis because of a hand injury sustained in a playoff loss to Indianapolis.
On December 3 2007, Scott was penalized twice for unsportsmanlike conduct in the fourth quarter of the Monday Night Football game against the New England Patriots. The second call came after Scott picked up the official's flag and threw it into the stands. After the possession ended, Scott had to be held back from the referee by his teammates. Following the game, teammate Samari Rolle made accusations of disrespectful language by the official involved.[1]
Scott is in preliminary talks with the Ravens on a contract extension. He is in the final year of his contract and has stated that he wants to be a Raven. The Ravens want him for a four to five year extension.[2]
