Bladwin Hills is very similar in nature to such MTV program as Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County and The Hills, as it features African-Americans of upper-middle class families who divide their time between attending school, playing sports, shopping at high-end outlets, and driving expensive cars.

Many people have called Baldwin Hills the "black version" of Laguna Beach and The Hills. However, the show has been noted for having more parental involvement on the show than Laguna Beach, where parents almost seemed nonexistant. In a blog on the Baldwin Hills website, Justin, a new cast member for the reality show, have stated that Moriah, Gerren, Sal, Staci, and Ashley from Season 1 appeared to participate in a photo shoot. It has been confirmed that the following five, will be in the second season, with a batch of others!

Season Premiere: The party's on and popping, and after it ends, the drama beings.

Episode 1 & 2 were aired as an hour long season primere episode and is counted as one episode instead of two separate episodes.

Episode 3: Daymeon and Moriah compete for Gerren's affections. Roqui wants a Mercedes.
Episode 4: Garnette parties, Staci shows out, Earl has dad troubles, and Moriah snubs Gerren.
Episode 5: Daymeon kisses Gerren, but she kisses Moriah. Garnette and Staci try to make peace.
Episode 6: Earl and Ashley call it quits. Daymeon's mom has had enough.
Episode 7: Moriah and Gerren get closer, but his parent's aren't too pleased.
Episode 8: It's prom time, but Gerren has other things on her mind. Plus, Staci worries about her niece.
Episode 9: Willie let's Sal down easy, but Gerren's harsh when she dumps Moriah.
Episode 10: Roqui, Garnette, Willie, and Makensy graduate and look to the future.
