Aleksandra Georgievna Chudina (Russian: Александра Георгиевна Чудина) (b. November 6, 1923 in the village of Kramskaya, Kurkinsky District, Tula Oblast[1] d. October 28, 1990) is a Soviet athlete who competed in many different field events. She trained at Dynamo in Moscow. [2]

She competed for the USSR in the 1952 Summer Olympics held in Helsinki, Finland in the Javelin throw where she won the Silver medal, Long Jump where she also won a silver medal and placed third in the High Jump for the bronze medal.
On May 22 1954, she broke the world record in women's high jump in Kiev with a jump of 1.73 meters, breaking the previous record of 1.72 meters which had been set in London by Sheila Lerwill of Great Britain. Her record was broken on May 5 1956 in Belfast by Thelma Hopkins of Great Britain with a jump of 1.74 meters.[3]

She played for the USSR in the Volleyball team, and won the Volleyball World Championship with them in 1952, 1956 and 1960,[4] and the European Volleyball Championship in 1949, 1950, 1951 and 1958 and was runner-up to Czechoslovakia in 1955.[5]
