[edit] Club career

A product of the Brescia youth team, Diana debuted for the first team in a Serie B match on 1997, and played his first Serie A match on August 31, 1997, against Inter Milan. He was loaned out to Hellas Verona in 1999 before leaving Brescia for Parma.

Unfortunately, he did not obtain particularly success with the Emilian side, and he left Parma on January 2003 in a six-months loan to Reggina, and then signed for Sampdoriain the end of that season. Diana has since become one of the key members of Sampdoria.

In 2006, he signed for Palermo, where he played a total of 41 league matches with two goals, including the equalizer in a 2–1 win by the Rosanero against AC Milan. On January 30, 2008, Diana was announced to have been sold to Torino in a permanent move.[1]

[edit] International career

After impressing for Sampdoria, Diana quickly gained a number of call-ups in the Italy's national team, debutting in a friendly match against Spain on April 28, 2004. He was a regular for Marcello Lippi on the Nazionale but an injury prevented him from going to Germany for the 2006 World Cup
