Advance Bank

The Advance Bank was an Australian bank that existed as a bank from 1985 until 1996, when it merged with St George Bank.
It started as the NSW Building Society. It was demutualised in 1985 & became known as the Advance Bank. In 1993 it acquired the State Bank of South Australia, changing its name to the Bank of South Australia. It was taken over in 1996 by St George Bank, itself another former building society.
