Adriana Poli Bortone

Adriana Poli Bortone (born on 25 August 1943 in Lecce) is an Italian politician and Member of the European Parliament for Southern with the Alleanza Nazionale, part of the Union for a Europe of Nations and sits on the European Parliament's Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety.
She is a substitute for the Committee on Regional Development, a vice-chair of the Delegation for relations with the countries of south-east Europe and a substitute for the Delegation for relations with the Mashreq countries.

- 1965: Graduate in classics
- 1985: Assistant (1968) and then associate lecturer in Latin literature at the University of Lecce

- 1981-1990: National secretary for women of the MSI-DN
- 1990-1995: Member of the national executive of MSI-DN
- 1995-2000: Member of the national executive of the AN
- since 1998: Member of Lecce Municipal Council (1967-1998) and Mayor of Lecce
- Member of the Chamber of Deputies of Italy (1983-1999), vice-chairman of the Special Committee on Telecommunications and the Broadcasting System, vice-chairman of the Federconsorzi Special Committee, member of the Bureau of the interparliamentary committee
- 1994: Vice-Chairman of the Chamber
- 1994-95: Agriculture Minister
- 2003: Chairman of the Agency for the Mediterranean Cultural Heritage
- since 1999: Member of the European Parliament
- Ambassador of Peace
