[edit] re:Talk:Coconut oil
Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. However, we must insist that you assume good faith while interacting with other editors, which you did not on Talk:Coconut oil. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. --Ronz 02:09, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] wiki speech
New editors often experience difficulty in contentious articles that are considered "altmed". Learning to address, or criticize, subjects and actions rather than other editors can be very important. Also some editors are much more zealous in projecting their personal views of the Wikipedia policies, perceiving anatagonism, failing to assume good faith WP:AGF or civility. It can be difficult for new editors to learn the policies and effectively assert their points, editorial insights and rights, in such areas and requires some extra care. We also have a policy that recommends moderation in addressing new editors WP:BITE, don't be afraid to ask others for help or polite explanations. I do recommend that you get a User account for yourself, it brings some additional credibility and privileges. Some of the issues you are encountering can be aided by focusing on the errors (and biases) of the earlier references and *citing* sources that are considered reliable, e.g. you might cite the original 1950's studies with hydrogenated coconut oil and Enig's later analyses (and criticisms) thereof. You sound like you have some thoughtful contributions to share and I want to extend another, "Welcome to Wikipedia".--TheNautilus 11:47, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
