BSD-licensen er den software licens som Berkeley-universitets Computer Systems Research Group frigav deres UNIX-lignende system, Berkeley Software Distribution (BSD), under.

Licensen har meget få restriktioner - så få, at materialet er tæt på offentlig ejendom.

Mange af de systemer, som er udsprunget fra den oprindelige kodebase, er frigivet under modificerede udgaver af BSD-licensen.

Modsat GPL tvinger BSD ikke til at frigive afledte værker under nogen bestemt licens. Licensen kræver blot kreditering af den oprindelige udvikler.
