Phobetor is a genus of pterodactyloid pterosaur, of the family Dsungaripteridae, named after the Greek god of nightmares. Originally described as a species of Dsungaripterus (D. parvus), it was soon recognized as a new genus, and given the name Phobetor parvus. However, the genus name Phobetor is already being used for a fish (Krøyer, 1844), so a new genus name will be eventually assigned for the pterosaur.
Phobetor closely resembles Dsungaripterus in shape and form, save that the bill is straight, and does not curve upward. Even so, it is strongly suggested that like its relative, Phobetor was a shellfish-eating piscivore.
