[edit] History

KWMX signed on in 1998 broadcasting an Oldies music format branded as "Cool 96.7". On July 1, 2006, KWMX changed formats to its present Classic Rock music format as "96.7 The Wolf". The station aires The Bob & Tom Show, called "Bob & Tom in the Morning" while airing on the station, during the early daytime, and Nights with Alice Cooper in the evenings. In 2008, the station sponsored a local band from Prescott, Distant Fury, in Prescott Valley's Battle of the Bands, where the band won the competition. Distant Fury frontman, Junior Gonzalez, is a Disc Jockey for the station.
