[edit] help

Never mind. I found the page! Wikipedia:Sign your posts on talk pages

What you can do is go to Special:Preferences and under the Nickname box, check the box marked Raw Signature. Then, put what you want to show up in the Nickname box, and save your prefernces.
I'm pretty sure that the <font> tags need to be inside the visible link section to work. I fixed your desired signature, as seen below.

It should yield something like Bob the Phoenix
I know you found the page, but I was practically done helping anyway, so there it is if you want personalized and not generic help. Jfingers88 00:39, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] albatrosses and culture

I (only just) noticed your question on the albatross talk page, where you asked why can't I put info on the character from Sonic Riders? I read in the summary that it was replaced with a more "well-known" one. Isn't the Sonic franchise popular enough? To answer, since I removed the reference, I'd say that I was trying to keep the albatrosses and popular culture section down in size so that the whole culture section didn't overwhelm the albatrosses and human section - albatrosses get quite a lot of nods by people you know. A song by a big group (pink flyod) a sketch by a big comedy group and a reference in a recent film (that was referencing the famous poem, no less) made their contribution to modern popular culture without being and exaustive list (which could also include the Rescuers Down Under and the song by fleetwood mac etc etc etc). You ask Isn't the Sonic franchise popular enough?, to which I say, yes, very much so, but with regards to Sonic only. Maybe Two Tails and Knuckles too. If you were asking me whether Sonic deserves a mention in the article on hedgehogs I'd say yes, without doubt, because Sonic is as famous as Miss Tiggywinkles as far as hedgehogs go. But Wave the Albatross is only in one game, and Sonic's fame doesn't confer enough notability on a minor villan in one game of the franchise. You ask a hundred people whether they have heard of Sonic, I'd say a good number say yes, even if they nevver actually played the game. You ask the same about Wave, you wouldn't get the same level of cultural impact.

I hope this answers your question. I'm sorry it took me so long to reply, I just missed your note when I went into the field for the start of the season. Sabine's Sunbird talk 06:52, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

Okay. That seems reasonable enough. Bob the Phoenix 15:42, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
