5!

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

5! (pronounced five factorial) is a hardcore punk band from the town of Croton-on-Hudson, NY. 5! played their first show in 1997 at BB King's bar and grill where they opened for rap group Dead Prez. From there on 5! played many shows across the tri-state area with bands such as The Foo Fighters, Panic! At The Disco, Kelly Clarkson, and MC Hammer. 5!'s live shows are often extravagant and usually include laser lights, smoke machines, and pyrotechnics. 5!'s live shows came to the attention of Sire Records who later signed an 4 record contract with the band. 5! claims no political affiliation but have been outspoken pro-life advocates, this comes across strong on their 2002 release "Fetus Liberation Front". In 2006, 5!'s keyboard player was shot down on the streets of Trenton, following a debate over the public library system.[citation needed] This caused the band to enter an indefinite hiatus.
