[edit] Advertising

Please discontinue advertising the film Loren Cass by adding external links and/or "content" to articles related to bands (or anything else). The fact that several bands were used in the film doesn't mean you have to note it in the article. All you seem to contribute is trivia, essentially, to articles like [Sunshine Skyway Bridge]] - unfortunately, you can't run through a list of every possible thing tangentially related to the movie and try to promote the movie there. It may not be your intent to promote or advertise the film, perhaps, but that certainly seems like what's going on (it's the only thing you do). Cheeser1 13:25, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

I'm not sure if you check this page, but I didn't see a place to reply on your personal page. It is not advertising and it is absolutely relevant that a band such as Leftover Crack, who has an information page on Wikipedia with all of their history and album information, was in a feature film (not just on a soundtrack), and it's their only film appearance...ever. I was sure to include the sources as well. It's not "tangentially" related, they're a large part of what is becoming a major independent film. Have you seen the film? Both Leftover Crack and the Sunshine Skyway play key roles in the film, and numerous major newspapers have written about the film, including the St. Petersburg Times. They found it relevant, so why don't the editors at Wikipedia? Your owner lives in St. Pete, ask him about it, I'm sure the history of the Skyway is relevant to him. I don't understand these fascist editing policies as it's almost impossible these days to add anything of relevance to Wikipedia. I see plenty of entries for irrelevant musicians, bands, albums, films, filmmakers, etc. all the time, ones much less relevant than "Loren Cass". You guys need to adjust the way you do business, it shouldn't be a battle to add information. I just spent a month battling to get one entry deletion overturned (and I succeeded), do I really have to fight for every little thing? Regarding the Arcade Fire entry, how come "major" external sites like IMDB have links plastered all over every film entry, but smaller informative sites can't be cited? What? That makes no sense. Perhaps Wikipedia is, after all, in the lucrative pockets of Amazon and others. Please stop removing all my entries, which with a little research instead of a quick mouse-finger, you'd see were indeed relevant.

Yes, I'm a top-level agent of facism working for Amazon.com in their attempt to destroy your friend's film. Get over it. (Please note sarcasm.) You want to establish that it should be included in the band's page? Show me something about the band that expounds the importance of the film, not the other way 'round. Until then, it's important to mention LöC in the article on your film, but not the reverse. That's just how it goes. Quit projecting your paranoia on us, I could easily lambaste you for being a (seemingly) self-promoting spam-monger, but I won't because I assume good faith (which is REQUIRED by policy), even though I've tried to make clear that what you're doing is excessive, isn't necessary, and does seem to constitute advertising. Take a chill pill, write your Loren Cass article, and I'm sure everything will work out. Cheeser1 00:48, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
