[edit] Re: Actors who died in their 20's

Per WP:OCAT, Wikipedia strongly discourages overcategorization in lists and categories. Category about actors (occupation) who died in their 20s (age) is a case of overcategorization by narrow intersection. If we look at a person like River Phoenix in the category who died of an accidental drug overdose, what does he have in common with someone else in the category, say, Jonathan Brandis, who killed himself, or Sharon Tate, who was murdered by the Manson family. The only thing these three have in common is that they're all dead and they died in their 20s, which is an arbitrary factor to categorize them by. I hope this answers your question. If you can show that there is some underlying principle behind categorizing three people who have so little in common simply by their occupation or their age, then it is not arbitrary. However, there does not seem to be a purpose behind it and it does not increase knowledge in any way. It's not POV to say something is arbitrary if it does not seem to have an underlying principle or logic behind it. Redfarmer (talk) 01:35, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

I did provide an "informative edit summary," which you ignored. I posted this on your page, and you deleted it. Do you just get off playing policeman without examining the reversions you undo? Are you anonphobic?
