From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hi, welcome. You contacted me on User talk:delldot about why the page S.K.I.F was deleted. I certainly don't have anything against the club, but Wikipedia has certain requirements for notability that all subjects must meet before being allowed to have an article here. There are various reasons for that. For one, Wikipedia has a very fundamental verifiability policy, and subjects that haven't received mention in multiple published sources (e.g. news articles, etc.) are difficult or impossible to verify. That is why there are the speedy deletion criteria. Any article that meets one of these criteria may be deleted right away (whereas others must be discussed first). I felt that the article S.K.I.F met criterion A7, no assertion of notability. That is, it did not explain what the group has done that makes it different from other groups of its kind and means it should be in an encyclopedia. I'm certainly willing to discuss this more, Leave me a message on my talk page if you have any questions or want to discuss anything. Peace, delldot | talk 02:13, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
