The 2011 Pan Arab Games will be the 12th Pan Arab Games event. The games will be held in Beirut, Lebanon. Beirut lost its bid to host the 11th Pan Arab Games after getting 10 votes to Egypt's 12 votes from the 22 Arab League members. However, Lebanon was the only nation to apply for hosting rights in 2011.
Beirut hosted the tournament twice before, in 1957 and 1997. The 2011 Games will be the second time the tournament is held with complete recognition from the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
