The 2010 FIBA World Championship will be hosted by Turkey from August 23 to September 5, 2010. It is co-organized by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), Turkish Basketball Federation and the 2010 Organizing Committee.
For the second time since 1986, the World Championship will have 24 competing nations, an increase from 16. As a result, the groups are each playing in different cities, with the knockout round being hosted by Istanbul.

Below is a list of the confirmed venues which will be used to host games during the 2010 FIBA World Championship. More stadia will be confirmed in the coming months.

[edit] Teams
Turkey is automatic qualifier as the host country. The 2008 Olympic champion will also receive an automatic berth. Most other teams will qualify through continental qualifying tournaments, and FIBA will invite "wild card" teams to fill out the field. The Draw for the Championship will be held on January 2010.

At the start of tournament, all 24 participating countries each will have 12 players on their rosters.
