[edit] 3rr notice board

You put some comments onto the 3rr notice board which is intended to tell the admin about WP:3RR violations, I removed them just now, as I see someone else already did before me. I don't know where to report such things (maybe WP:RFC or somewhere like that to start out with). It would be wise to edit with a user name, because anonymous edits are generally not given very much credibility. Also, I see in your contributions list that it looks like you currently have 3 reverts that you did today on an article. (I may be mistaken, I only looked at the summary and didn't check what your edits were.) Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia under the three-revert rule, which states that nobody may revert an article to a previous version more than three times in 24 hours. (Note: this also means editing the page to reinsert an old edit. If the effect of your actions is to revert back, it qualifies as a revert.) Thank you. --Atari2600tim (talkcontribs) 15:46, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

I came here to say much the same thing. If your complaint is genuine, then make it in a more appropriate place, such as Wikipedia:Vandalism in progress. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 16:03, 12 March 2006 (UTC)
I moved your comment to WP:AN/I Prodego talk 15:57, 12 March 2006 (UTC)
You've done another edit after I added the message above, I don't have time to look at them and compare them, but it sounds like from the summary that it's probably a revert (which is when someone changes something to how the page originally was, after someone else changed it). Please read WP:3RR, and if it sounds like it's talking about you, then don't make any more edits for the next 24 hours, because you've already done 4, which is more than what is allowed in one day. If each of those 4 edits are the same thing, then it would be appropriate for the admin to temporarily block you right now. If you feel like other people are ignoring your edits, and that your edits are good, then click on the discussion tab at the top of the page, and talk about why you changed it, and why others are wrong to not change it back to how it was earlier. --Atari2600tim (talkcontribs) 16:14, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] al-Khwarimzi

Why are you removing information for the al-Khwarizmi article? It states he was born in khwarezm (which would almost surely make him persian, so your edit is achieving the opposite of wht your edit summary states).—Ruud 01:59, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Persian Jews

Besides the fact that there is little justification for your edits, you have also repeatedly deleted minor grammtical fixes and wording changes, please stop. you are close to once again breaking the 3RR rule.- Moshe Constantine Hassan Al-Silverburg | Talk 01:02, 28 March 2006 (UTC)

You have been temporarily blocked for violation of the three-revert rule. Please feel free to return after the block expires, but also please make an effort to discuss your changes further in the future. The duration of the block[1] is 72 hours. Here are the reverts in question[2]. (ESkog)(Talk) 01:52, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
Why isn't Moshe Constantine Hassan Al-Silverburg blocked? I fully discussed and explained my edits on discussion page and how the new statements added to the article by another user are non-acadamic POV, and not VERIFIABLE. From what I understand, undoing another editor's edit is called a revert and you shouldn't do it moe three times, then if I am punished then Moshe Constantine Hassan Al-Silverburg should also be punished as he kept undoing my edit and others' well more than three times. Please take a look at the history page of Persian Jews as well as the discussion page. --200.118.111.122 01:58, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
actually the first time I replaced it it wasn't a revert, as I removed POV passages so that it would be more easy to accept.- Moshe Constantine Hassan Al-Silverburg | Talk 02:04, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
This is really ridiculous. Moshe Constantine Hassan Al-Silverburg is stubborn and reverts me even though I asked him to verify his source according to wiki policy, which he can't. And I end up getting blocked for 72 hours!!!!, I ask the admin to take another look at this situation as it seem like a case of double standards. Why am I punished and Moshe Constantine Hassan Al-Silverburg is not?--200.118.111.122 02:10, 28 March 2006 (UTC)

Probably because you've repeatedly violated 3RR and he hasn't. The way to deal with disagreements like this is to discuss the issues at the Talk page, and if that gets you nowhere, to place the article at Wikipedia:Requests for comment. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 09:35, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
