what is a lucky loser?Nic Car Bel 06:05, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

A Lucky Loser is a player that loses in the qualifier but makes the main draw due to an injury to someone within the draw. Captain Courageous 06:08, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
I created an article about it, see Lucky loser (sports). SportsAddicted | discuss 09:00, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
Hmmm, I see you did the same, so I redirect mine and edit yours. SportsAddicted | discuss 09:27, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
Sorry about that, mate; I should have mentioned it. Good point on Gimelstob though, I forgot about that rubbish. Captain Courageous 10:50, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
No problem, that's what we are here for. SportsAddicted | discuss 13:55, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Final 16 as opposed to Quarters

Feel free to add to the discussion at Talk:2007 Australian Open if you mind either way. :) Captain Courageous 12:34, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

I won't revert if you disagree, but here's my rationale:
  1. It looks different than the other sections. And it is different! When I first saw the finals section, I assumed that someone had vandalized Section 1 of the draw.
  2. It's more spacious than the compact 16-player brackets.
  3. Consistency with other slams
  4. It's not really "finals" anymore if it includes the 4th round, unless you want to call that round the "octofinals"...
