2005 UEFA Super Cup

The 2005 UEFA Super Cup was played on August 26, 2005 between Liverpool F.C. of England and CSKA Moscow of Russia. This was the first time a Russian side had competed in the Super Cup Final, as a result of CSKA Moscow beating Sporting Clube de Portugal in the 2005 UEFA Cup Final. Liverpool had made it to the final after beating AC Milan in the 2005 UEFA Champions League Final. Liverpool won the match 3–1 in extra time.
