John Gould, F.R.S. (* 14. September 1804 in Lyme Regis, Dorset; † 3. Februar 1881 in London) war ein britischer Ornithologe, Tiermaler und Lithograf.

Gould erlangte als wissenschaftlicher Laie durch Beobachtung und Erfahrung einen so reichen Kenntnisstand, dass er 1843 nach einer Australien-Expedition (1838 bis 1840) zum "Fellow der Royal Society" gewählt wurde. Vermutlich führte John Gould den Wellensittich erstmals nach Europa ein. Er ist darüber hinaus Erstbeschreiber des Krausschwanzmohos und des Bourkesittichs.
