[edit] In the beginning
In 1993 Phallucy were one of the most promising upcoming bands in the local Sacramento scene, on the verge of releasing their debut album. Yet after all their hard work it never saw a release with the band breaking up prematurely. The drummer Abe Cunningham left to join a fledgling band by the name of Deftones and went on to enjoy platinum success, Sonny started Heckler magazine on the west coast, David started the band Daycare. The band is described as "heavy and melodic." The band name is most likely a combination of the words "fallacy" and "phallus."
[edit] 8 Years Later
In September of 2001, the band's debut album , "Valium", conceived 8 years earlier was finally to receive limited release. When asked [1] why now was the right time to release the album, Abe replied:
"Primarily just because it never even saw the light of day. Back at that point I had rejoined the Deftones, with Phallucy having broken up and I had a cassette copy of it that wasn't even finished and it sounded pretty bad, and then 6 or 7 months ago Sonny and I got back together with Dave and we just decided to see what would happen if we actually finished it and it turned out to sound pretty cool. You can tell it's very young but it is what it is."
