A 2-8-2+2-8-2, in the Whyte notation for the classification of steam locomotives by wheel arrangement, is a Garratt articulated locomotive. The wheel arrangement is effectively two 2-8-2 "Mikado" locomotives operating back to back. The type is thus sometimes called a Double Mikado.

This was the fourth most common Garratt type, with 144 examples constructed, 114 by Garratt patent owner Beyer, Peacock and 30 built by others under license. Only six were to standard gauge, for the Nitrate Railways of Chile; 90 were built to 3 ft 6 in (1 m) gauge for a number of different railways, 28 to Metre gauge, and 16 to 5 ft 6 in (2 m) gauge for Spain, six for Central of Aragon and eight in 1960 for the nationalized RENFE, which were the second last order of Garratts built.[1][2]
