Zachary Babington ( - 1745), High Sheriff, was an attorney.[1] He was the son of John Babington, and was named for his grandfather Dr. Zachary Babington, chancellor of Lichfield Cathedral, and was distantly related to Anthony Babington, who in 1586 was hung, drawn and quartered on Tower Hill for his participation in a plot to put Mary Queen of Scots on the English throne.[2] Babington resided at Curborough Hall, Curborough, Staffordshire, and later at Whittington Old Hall, Whittington, Staffordshire.[3][4]
