Birds

BTW, we should modify bird article with the statement "Birds are bipedal, warm-blooded, egg-laying dinosaurs" instead of "Birds are bipedal, warm-blooded, egg-laying vertebrates". That would be way more specific, and anyone could go to dinosaur article and see that dinosaurs are vertebrates. Think about it;) TestPilot 05:48, 3 January 2006 (UTC)

1, That would be silly. 2, that would still be silly. 3, birds are dinosaur vertebrates, but vertebrates sounds better, so lets leave it. As I said on the dinosaur talk page, try not to go editing big articles without getting a consensus. I'm not the one to talk to about birds, but rather post on the bird talk page. I do hope you'll take my advice however on getting involved in meaningless article discussions. Thanks for replying, Spawn Man 05:53, 3 January 2006 (UTC)

Pictures

It's not just you; the image servers have been acting up all day (and for good reason—we're the #20 site on the net right now!).

As far as the image licensing goes, I'm not terribly familiar with all the permutations, but GFDL (what you have) forces anyone using the image to credit you. There might be other options you have as well, but I really don't know that much about them.

Hope that helps! —Kirill Lokshin 04:27, 4 January 2006 (UTC)

It helps some. Thanks yet again Kirill for your knowledge pool of well... knowledge... Spawn Man 04:40, 4 January 2006 (UTC)

You got it back, happy discussing with your fellow dinosaurians! ;) Cyberevil 05:17, 4 January 2006 (UTC)

Neanderthals

Hi -

I've been editing the Neanderthal article for about a year, got it peer reviewed and rescued it from the "primal sludge" much like you do for Dinosaur. It still could use some work, but I'd like to get it to featured status. Since you seem to know the process, would you mind helping me out to get the Neanderthals featured? Thanks, you did an awesome job on Dinosaur. --JPotter 05:43, 4 January 2006 (UTC)

Of course I'll help. Will leave a to do for you on your talk page. Spawn Man 02:19, 5 January 2006 (UTC)

verifyability

Please read the Wikipedia:Verifiability policy. You'll note that a tour does not qualify. Further, I'm going to change back the section on dinosaur size. You added [citation needed] twice in the middle of a sourced quote. Too bad the " character doesn't blink. WAS 4.250 05:55, 4 January 2006 (UTC)

Huh? I only added my parts to the paragraph & deleted the external links in the text.... Spawn Man 02:13, 5 January 2006 (UTC)

Image copyright tag

I think the best template for your needs is {{CopyrightedFreeUseProvidedThat|your restrictions}}. Please note that non-commercial or educational use restrictions are not allowed as provisions in this tag. Wikipedia:Image copyright tags has others if this one isn't suitable. Please say hi to Smokey for me. ;-) Cheers, Sango123 (talk) 20:35, 4 January 2006 (UTC)

Tried, failed, posted on your talk. Now I'm even more confused. Half are saying what I've got is fine, the others are saying that it's not..... Spawn Man 02:17, 5 January 2006 (UTC)

COTW

Would you be willing to support my nominee for WP:COTW. The article is Invasion which is an important term for military knowledge. The current article however isn't at the same standard as the term is in modern and historic warfare though. If you'll be willing to support, I'll be greatful. Thanks RENTASTRAWBERRY FOR LET? röck 00:36, 5 January 2006 (UTC)

I said if you helped me getting Dinosaur to the main page in its FAC, I'd help you....I lied. No, just joking. Of course I will help with your nominee. Spawn Man 02:16, 5 January 2006 (UTC)

I put it in the wrong place

I put it in the wrong place and I have a very slow computer and connection so I don't want to get in an "edit conflict" over fixing it so fix it or ask me to fix it. Either is ok. 4.250.168.215 02:30, 5 January 2006 (UTC) 4.250.168.215 02:32, 5 January 2006 (UTC) WAS 4.250 02:33, 5 January 2006 (UTC)

text originally posted by above user on Spawn Man's user page:This may sound a little harsh, but for F!^* sake man, don't delete sources!!!!!!!. There should be absolutely no deletion of sources in the actual text! Now I know you're not stupid, but you consistantly continue to stuff up the Dinosaur article by deleting sources in the text!! It's easy:
Put this; "blah blah blah blah text text text. (or another title).

Put this in the appropriate place in the notes section: *^ .
Save. Easy as that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't get what's going on here? The above text was never deleted! "text originally posted by above user on Spawn Man's user page:" Huh?I posted a similar post at Was4.250's talk, but the wording was different. Plus how..... Never mind, I'm not going to ask..... Spawn Man 02:53, 5 January 2006 (UTC)

No problemo, Spawn Man, I'll explain. Check your user page's history. An anonymous user posted the text you see above, which I removed from there and pasted here instead. In the process, I got logged off - that's the other IP address you see at this Talk page. I believe the guy realized he messed up, so he also posted the notice above regarding having posted "in the wrong place". Hope it makes sense now. Cheers, -- Phædriel 03:02, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
Not really, but I guess it'll do. Why did he leave the message? That's not even my message, I had different wording..... I'm still partially confused... Spawn Man 03:04, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
Hum, I'll try and put it easier for you.
- WAS 4.250 (IP 4.250.168.215) posted this text at your user page, instead of doing it at your talk page.
- I was doing RC patrolling, and it caught my attention that someone different from you had edited your user page. I noticed his post, and removed it from there and pasted it here, with a warning for the user who had commited that mistake.
- I got logged off while pasting his text here, hence I appeared under my IP address at this Talk page's history.
- As for his reasons, I'm afraid you have deeper knowledge of his discussion with you - I cannot help you there.
Hope this clears the subject. Cheers, -- Phædriel 03:16, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
I get it now. Sorry for the trouble. I must get some barrocca in me to loosen those cob webs! Thanks. Spawn Man 03:20, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
Heh, no problemo, Spawn :-) Have a nice day, -- Phædriel 03:21, 5 January 2006 (UTC)

Image tag

Well, Spawn babe, it actually kinda shocks me that you ask me, having been here for less than a month! But as far as I can tell, no, the curent tag doesn't suit your wishes, as the GNU Free Documentation License allows everyone to use it with very limited restrictions. If you fear that someone else use it for other purposes, I can definetely tell you that the current tag is inappropriate, as the GNU Free Documentation License 1.2 clearly states that:

"The purpose of this License is to make a manual, textbook, or other functional and useful document "free" in the sense of freedom: to assure everyone the effective freedom to copy and redistribute it, with or without modifying it, either commercially or noncommercially."

I'm afraid that I cannot find among the Wikipedia:Image copyright tags one that suits your wishes entirely. Sango's suggestion above, while good one, falls short to reserve the rights you wish to keep for yourself. The only solution I can see, is that you tag it as {{Fairusein|User:Spawn Man}}, with a specific notice of the rights you wish to reserve for yourself. Not sure if that's the best solution, but I'm afraid no document or pic uploaded to WP is entirely safe from copying. I suggest you change the tag asap, and I sincerely hope I helped you at least a little. Cheers, -- Phædriel 03:52, 5 January 2006 (UTC)

Yes, I was thinking about suggesting you to have it deleted, if you really really wanted to protect the image from any instance of copy. I'm sad, since Smokey is so cute.... but hey, you have him at home ;-). Lemme know if I can be of any further assistence to you. Cheers, -- Phædriel 04:19, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
Well, that sure is a lot of questions you ask! ;-) And before you mention it, no, I don't mind answering. If you expect an answer as "I became a cop to save the world", well, no, I'm far more practical than that. I just wanted to do the right thing, and I wanted to be good at it, cause I knew I could. And most important, I wanted the job! Regarding whether I've killed somebody or not, I wonder why does everybody ask me that after meeting me? You don't mind if I pass on that for now, Spawn? Maybe later... Cheers, -- Phædriel 04:43, 5 January 2006 (UTC)

I just want to know if I should be afraid of you is all..... Be afraid, be very afraid..... (another joke of course.....). Sure, you can pass for now.... I don't mind at all.... Spawn Man 04:47, 5 January 2006 (UTC)

Well, you don't need to be afraid of me, unless you've broken the law whithin the limits of the state of Oklahoma ;-) I'll TTYL, Spawnie, have a good one! Cheers, -- Phædriel 04:50, 5 January 2006 (UTC)

Dinosaur edits

Hi, Spawn Man. Great work on getting Dinosaur to WP:FA. Could I ask you to tone down your edit summaries a bit? [1], while not uncivil, is probably not helpful either. Also, perhaps instead of reverting, it would be better to convert them to footnotes instead? I'd much rather have inline sources than no sources at all. Just a suggestion. Thanks! — Knowledge Seeker 04:16, 5 January 2006 (UTC)

No I'm sick of doing footnotes & mopping up after people who can't use them!!! No more!! I quite looking after the dinosaur article!!!!!!!!! If they want to stuff it up & make it look crappy, I no longer care!!!!!!!! I did my part, got it to the main page & that's it!!!! Spawn Man is Spawn Man door mop no more!!!!!!!!!!! Spawn Man 04:19, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
I agree that it would be a good idea for you to take a break from that article. You don't have to mop it up or look after it, especially if causes you this much stress. Perhaps it would be better to have others look after the article for a while. I'm not even sure what a door mop is, but it doesn't sound fun. Also, consider cutting back on the exclamation points—after more than one or two, they tend to lose their effect. — Knowledge Seeker 04:24, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
I disagree, the more I tap, the less of a door mop I feel. Definition of a door mop: Noun, adjective. 1. One who mops door with a mop like device. 2. Gullable, used person or thing, mocked & ignored by others despite his/her talents regarding intellect. One of poorly thought. 3. Actual device of a door mop, used to clean doors. (oxford dictionary, 1996 edition). Spawn Man 04:29, 5 January 2006 (UTC)

Just incase you didn't get it, door mops don't exsist.... Spawn Man 04:30, 5 January 2006 (UTC)

I'm sorry to hear that. Do you feel used or mocked? — Knowledge Seeker 04:34, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
Nooo! I'm joking, can't you see my words. The way their lined out clearly shows a joking attitude. Nothing gets me down much! I just like lots of dots........... & exclamtions okay?!!!!!!!!!!! Plus I'm absolutely mad!
But seriously, I hate looking after the dinosaur article, so I'm no longer going to do it. Me first, article last. It's an endless fight. It doesn't matter that I did all the hard work. These guys just come on in, change everything & expect me to be happy? My opinion doesn't matter. Plus I just found out the Shauri & Wiglaf are leaving wikipedia for good & I don't want them to go. So I'm just taking a mopping break okay? Spawn Man 04:44, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
See what I mean about the mixed blessing of an FA on the frontpage. 'Bout as much fun as a Hemorrhoid. Wisdom does not bring comfort, my friend...only comfortably numb if you're lucky. I'm still not over Shauri & Wiglaf. I can't bring myself to post anything on their talkpages yet either. But if it wasn't for Wiki I would never have known two such wonderful personages, minds and friends. So what Wikifaith and friends I have left, along with caffine, insomnia and insanity drives me onward...ever onward. Ciao for now amigo,--R.D.H. (Ghost In The Machine) 13:56, 5 January 2006 (UTC)

Footnotes

I saw your recent edit at Dinosaurs and I felt you might need a reference from Wikipedia:Footnotes concerning the embedded links that seemed to offend you: "The policy page regarding source citation is Wikipedia:Verifiability and the style guide is Wikipedia:Cite sources. Using footnotes is not mandatory or even preferred. Those editing the article may select other citation styles: for example, embedded links or Harvard referencing. See Wikipedia:Cite_sources#How_to_cite_sources for a list of options. It is important to discuss the matter with other editors on the page." Hope this helps. --Wetman 04:37, 5 January 2006 (UTC)

Footnotes

You've got an extra footnote at the end of the "Environment changes" section that refers to an earlier note. The easiest thing to do would probably be to renumber it to "ref|changes-b" or something and insert another note in the notes section. Alternately, there are ways to make multiple notes in the text go to a single footnote, but they're more complicated. —Kirill Lokshin 01:40, 9 January 2006 (UTC)

I hope you realise I'm useless at this kind of thing. Sort of like trusting the chimpanzee to get the human into space..... Spawn Man 01:42, 9 January 2006 (UTC)

I found the problem - two instances of the same note. There is a new reference system - I haven't used it yet so I can't vouch for its ease of use, but it generates the reference list numbers for you, the details are here m:Cite/Cite.php. You might want to think about changing to that one - you should also add a big commented out note at the top of the page explaining which inline referencing system is being used and provide some instructions fo people adding references, it might save you some work in the long run.--nixie 01:45, 9 January 2006 (UTC)

I might give it a shot later tonight, but you're gonna owe me ;) --nixie 02:03, 9 January 2006 (UTC)

DYK

Hi, sorry I haven't got to the dinosaurs ref system yet, the page has been pretty busy and I thought I'd wait 'til it settled down a bit. DYK archiving is done by a bot that noone who updates DYK knows how to use, the templates that have recently appeared on the main page are on the suggestion page in the section marked archives, and will have to be moved to actual archive pages sometime soon since the page is getting very large. Good job on the tunnel article btw, it was surprisingly intersting for an article about a tunnel.--nixie 02:05, 12 January 2006 (UTC)

Thanks. It was originally a report a while back, & I was desparate for things to write about, so I turned to an old school report to solve my dilema. The whole article is actually from old newspaper clippings from our library in town, & there was no info on the net, but it was well worth it & as you say, interesting. Thanks a bunch again. And yes, the dinosaur article has been going mad lately with two users editing on there the amount of my total edits probably! I'm just uploading old book covers now. Thanks for the info, and as per usual, kind demenor. Spawn Man 02:14, 12 January 2006 (UTC)

Hi, I appreciate your input and feedback on my Rfa. It was not clear to me what you meant by "this kind of ideal" or why you questioned my maturity. It appears you misunderstood Extreme Unction's comment - I never used the terms mentioned, I commented on their use as part of an Rfa, and unfortunately Extreme Unction seems to have misunderstood what I said. I certainly never used the words, or said they were not a problem, or mentioned brainwashing in any way. It is unfortunate that you are basing your vote on a misunderstanding by another editor - please let me know if I can clarify this more for you. KillerChihuahua?!? 01:56, 14 January 2006 (UTC)

I'm afraid I'm not too good at brainbending questions. "Dwile flonking" sounds like something you'd do on Usenet. V. infernalis says "vampire squid from hell" in Latin, so I'm guessing that's what it is. "Inosculation" is something to do with tying trees together. I'm guessing Sally got up at 8.03 (hands overlap at about 3.18, plus 15 is 3.33, add 4 and a half hours). Glogg is now made from red wine, cinnamon, cardamom and some other things, and I know you can make it from red berries, so I'd plump for red berries but I don't know what would have made it spicy before those spices were readily available: dill maybe. I know Scandinavians love their dill! In Iceland, it seems to be made of brewed Marmite. It's a bad bet. Jack can simply give Jill nothing, lose the bet and pay a pound. He's a pound up on the deal. Dwile flonking

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Image:Girting.jpg
Dwile flonking in Suffolk, England.

Dwile flonking in an English pub game. The game is officially played by two teams of twelve players, though there is great flexibility in numbers (the terminology and rules also vary from place to place). The fielding team gathers in a circle, called a girter, enclosing a member of the other team, the flonker. He holds a broom handle (usually called the driveller), on top of which is a beer-soaked rag, the dwile or dwyle.

At a signal, the girter dances around the flonker in a circle. He must flick (or flonk) the dwile with the driveller so it hits a girter team member. His score depends on which part of the body he hits—the usual scoring is three points for a hit on the head (a wanton), two for a hit on the body, (a marther), and just one for a leg strike (a ripple). If after two shots the flonker hasn’t scored he is swadged, or potted, which means he has to drink a quantity of beer from a chamber pot within a given time. After all the members of one team have flonked, the other team is put in. The winner is the team with the most points after two innings, usually the one with more members still upright.

Cheers! - Phædriel tell me 20:00, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

Of course! I'd be honored if you add me to your Wikifriends, Spawnie ;) You know I liked the questions o much, that I even created Dwile flonking on Wikipedia? Yay! Kisses, - Phædriel tell me 23:39, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

Inosculation

Hi spawn man! Finallay i understood what latin is usefull for! To answer your hqits

Ok, Inosculation, form inosculare latin, wich it basiclally means to provide an opening with, or to blend,in bothanic inosculation means when two trees bend togheter, Do i win something? --Philx 06:13, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

Excellent thinking. But sadly, no, that is still not what I'm after. It's an english word (or sounds like it at least), is on the inosculation page on wikipedia & is definitely not latin. Further more, no, you don't win a prize, but you can get the pride of being placed on the scoreboard.... Spawn Man 23:23, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

Guess this competition is getting more competitive..... Spawn Man 22:46, 20 January 2006 (UTC) P.S. I'm looking for the "Technical" term for bird's poop..... & no, it's not faeces... :)

DYK

Updated DYK query Did you know? has been updated. A fact from the article Shane Warne Cricket '99, which you recently created, has been featured in that section on the Main Page. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.

Questions

Let's see:

  1. Australia.
  2. Guano, perhaps? I suspect there are different names depending on the type of bird.
  3. No idea.
  4. Ciccone?
  5. Still no idea.

You're going to have to tell us the glogg answer eventually ;-) —Kirill Lokshin 14:37, 20 January 2006 (UTC)

Never! I'll re-say the hints for the glogg question that are on my talk archives:
There are three ingredients.
One is red wine. Spawn Man 22:49, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
Well, since everybody's already given a shot at it, I'll make a wild guess myself: vodka and rum. Could you at least please say if I got just one of them right? =) – Phædriel tell me - 00:34, 21 January 2006 (UTC)
Sorry, but you didn't get any right..... Spawn Man 01:27, 21 January 2006 (UTC)
Geez! =( Aquavit? Brandy? I'm running out of beverages... – Phædriel tell me - 02:53, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

Yay! Brandy is another one!! Spawn Man 03:21, 22 January 2006 (UTC)

New questions

Hey, Spawn Man! Mind if I take a stab at the first and last questions? ;)

1) Who was the Assyrian God of war? --Ashur

6) The Dutch word, Kindercarnavalsoptochtvoorbereidingswerkzaamheden means what? --"Preparation activities for a children's carnival procession," or literally, "for children Carnival procession preparation activities"

Cheers, Sango123 (talk) 04:01, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

Great on the Kindercarnavalsoptochtvoorbereidingswerkzaamheden question, but you're off on the ashur one..... close though... Spawn Man 03:33, 22 January 2006 (UTC). BTW, Glad to see you finally joined us in the quiz...
Hmmmm... might it be Asur, Assur, Ashshur, Asshur, or Ashir? :) [2] Sango123 (talk) 17:58, 22 January 2006 (UTC)
Sadly, still no... Spawn Man 02:35, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
These answers are getting worringly close to Usher (close enough for me, anyway ;-)). SoLando (Talk) 04:10, 25 January 2006 (UTC)

Come and vote your mind

Dear Christian friend,

I saw you on the list of Christian Wikipedians and wanted to let you know about something. The other day, someone nominated 12 Christian biography entries for deletion! They include a Christian university list of people (not unlike 68 other lists like it)[3], presidents of universities, and authors of many books.

Since that time, people have been voting. Please take this message as a call to vote; not a call to vote a certain way. I respect you and your ability to come, read the entry, and make a wise decision. In other words, I’m not vote stacking or campaigning; simply letting you know something that you’d probably like to know.

By the way, my friend recently started an organization called Wiki4Christ. If you’d like to join a network of Christians with a purpose on Wikipedia, please see the site!

Below are some of the links that need attention. Thanks for your consideration.

God bless you, Wiggins2 07:21, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

Tricky situation. You might just declare the next holy war right now with this thing obviously sending wikipedia into a split down the middle. I'm going to look objectively at this, not just save the articles because I'm Christian. If an article's crap, it's crap. I'm not going to save it if it is. Although I'm an inclusionist, I recognise a bit of drivel when I see it it. Although it is probably just an accusation, but the editor who set this up, this deletion spree, seems to have a hidden agenda. There are those who just want to stuff everything up, don't they.... I'll handle this situation with my usual professional attitude; EG; "Listen you little toad stool".... or "That's it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"... I'll do what I do. I appreciate being told of this. I return your blessings... Spawn Man 03:51, 22 January 2006 (UTC)

Father & son

Q. The ages of a son & father are the same with the digits reversed. Nine years ago, the father was twice as old as the son. How old are they now?
A. The father is 63, and the son is 36. Kisses! - Phædriel tell me 09:40, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

Yep... Spawn Man 03:31, 22 January 2006 (UTC)

crate

  • 4 A crate weighs three quarters of a crate plus three quarters of a pound. how heavy is it?

Had to use a calculator for this one, I'm not familiar with this archaic imperial cr@p :-)

Answer: 1.0206 kg - MPF 09:24, 22 January 2006 (UTC)

Sadly, the answer is in pounds... Archaic imperial cr@p! How dare you! God save the Queen... (smothered with jokingness) :)... Spawn Man 02:11, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
3 pounds? --Martyman-(talk) 02:39, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
YES! 3 pounds... this quiz is very competitive! Spawn Man 02:40, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
Yay! and me from a metric country and everything (not that that makes a difference to the answer). --Martyman-(talk) 02:42, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

War Gods and Bird Poop

1 Who was the Assyrian God of war?

  • Asur (Assur)

2 Bird's poop is called what?

  • Guano (It's not only for Bats anymore:)

"I could be wrong...I could be right", John Lydon --R.D.H. (Ghost In The Machine) 20:56, 22 January 2006 (UTC)

No, it's not either of them. Guano is not correct, not matter how many times people post it here.... :) Spawn Man 02:32, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

Just a little patience

Rorw! Sorry mate, I didn't mean to get your back up, I was already replacing your comments. When someone is doing (or has just done) a big refactor, it's often a good idea to wait a minute or three to see if they fix up any mistakes themselves. It can avoid edit conflicts up the duff when you're both trying to fix the same thing... brenneman(t)(c) 02:29, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

No harm done.... thanks for replying.... Spawn Man 02:31, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
And I'm done now anyway, if you see anything wrong, {{sofixit}}. This would of course include undoing everything if you think it was a bad idea! This was just going to far, I felt.

Glogg

I am goign to have to have a guess at the Glogg question it has been around for way too long. Is it red wine, brandy and sherry? --Martyman-(talk) 02:51, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

YAY!!!!!! MARTY MAN DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WELL DONE!!! Spawn Man 02:52, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

More answers

Let's see now...

1. This one's a puzzler. Ashur was the chief god, and was at some points considered to be the patron of the Assyrian war machine as a whole. At the same time, we have Ninurta as an existing war god in some versions of the pantheon. You may have someone else in mind.

3. I would guess Athens, since it was presumably in Athenian territory at the time of the battle.

6. C and F, if you mean just the major rings; there are a couple of little ones, though.

Incidentally, that little bar at the top of this page is pure evil ;-) —Kirill Lokshin 03:21, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

MUAHAAAAAA..... 2/3 ain't bad kirill... Trying to stay at the top are we?.... I'll add your answers tomorrow, can't be blowed right now, just finished updating everything before..... Spawn Man 03:24, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
Saturn has 15 rings total, so far...--R.D.H. (Ghost In The Machine) 22:37, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
"The Assyrian God of war", hummm... I thought it was Ashur myself, but since Spawn babe says otherwise, maybe he's referring either to Sulmanu or Nimurda, or to other denominations of Ashur such as Asir, Aushar, Ashar et al. Dunno, I'm puzzled :( – Phædriel tell me - 00:25, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
This one may be as puzzling as the glogg question..... Let me just say "The Assyrian God of War does not start with 'A' ".... Spawn Man 00:28, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
Then I'll just make a last attempt, and if I'm wrong, I'll just wait for your next questions... tho it's not a God but a Goddess, Ishtar (Innana). – Phædriel tell me - 00:38, 25 January 2006 (UTC)

Aw Shucks, (or a sweet word of the kind...). I didn't actually want a barn star, I just felt like complaining, (believe me the more you hang around me, the more this is apparent!). Thanks a bunch though! You obviously have a nice soul. You make my day! Thanks! Spawn Man 00:59, 25 January 2006 (UTC). P.S. I'll put it in a place of honour in my barn star gallery. However I don't why I got a humour barnstar? I didn't think I was that funny, apart from when people stop & say, "Look at the funny monkey mummy! Dance monkey, dance!".... I'm sick of bananas by the way..... & cymbals....... : )

3 A beggar collecting cigarette ends can make a new cigarette out of 4 ends. One morning, he collects a total of 32 ends. How many cigarettes can he smoke that day? 8 rather crappy cigarettes --Martyman-(talk) 00:05, 25 January 2006 (UTC)

6 How would you go about boiling a two-minute egg if you only had two sand timers - one for five minutes & the other for three minutes - to time it with? Start both timers going. Start the egg boiling when the first run runs out and stop it after the second one. --Martyman-(talk) 00:05, 25 January 2006 (UTC)

Correct... Spawn Man 00:23, 25 January 2006 (UTC)

Signatures

Well, the second one is rather... original ;-) Use whichever one strikes your fancy (or even change them from day to day!); be prepared to get lots of curious questions if they don't contain your username, though.

One thing to remember is that you should use subst: if you're going to use a signature page; templated signatures (and, to a lesser extent, images in signatures) make the servers die a slow and painful death ;-) —Kirill Lokshin 03:47, 25 January 2006 (UTC)

P.S. Sorry, but I stole your colour. I tried other colours, including vice versa, but they sucked. Plus i suit green....... User:Spawn Man/Signature1
Hehe, no problem ;-)
Subst:, incidentally, means that, rather than using {{User:Spawn Man/Signature2}}, you would use {{subst:User:Spawn Man/Signature2}}. —Kirill Lokshin 03:55, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
Does it really matter? Spawn Man 03:58, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
Depends on how many times you use it ;-) In the short run, not much (but the template police will come after you!). In the long run, it can cause serious problems, since it's effectively a template that will be used on every page you sign. It's been found that templates used on more than a few thousand pages can cause database locks (very bad!) when modified. —Kirill Lokshin 04:00, 25 January 2006 (UTC)

YAY!! Anyways, I was just experimenting... Can you delete the pages? I can always restart them.... Thanks... Spawn Man 04:03, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
