Shiki (志木市 Shiki-shi?) is a city located in Saitama Prefecture, Japan.
The city was founded on October 26, 1970. As of 1 April 2008, it has an estimated population of 69,549. The total area is 9.06 km².
[edit] Geography and transportation
Shiki Station is on the Tōbu Tōjō Main Line to Ikebukuro in Tokyo. The journey takes around 20 minutes by both express and semi express trains. Trains also run to central Tokyo stations on the Tokyo Metro Yūrakuchō Line. From June 2008, the Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin Line will connect Shiki to Shibuya, Tokyo with a twenty five-minute journey by express train.
Shiki City Hall is situated on the Shiki side of the station, approximately twenty-five minutes on foot.
