Scott Michael McClain (born May 19, 1972 in Simi Valley, California) is a first baseman who plays for the San Francisco Giants.
McClain has spent most of his professional career bouncing around the minor leagues for numerous Major League Baseball organizations. As a Major League, he has played in 9 games as a member of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in 1998, 13 games with the Chicago Cubs in 2005, and 8 games with the San Francisco Giants in 2007. He played in the Pacific League in Japan for the Seibu Lions from 2001-2004.
While playing for the Oakland A's Triple-A affiliate, the Sacramento River Cats, in 2006, McClain won the Pacific Coast League Most Valuable Player award. He was the fourth River Cats player since 2000 to win the award.
McClain is currently playing for the San Francisco Giants' AAA Affiliate, the Fresno Grizzlies.
