[edit] Esperanza User Page Award

Sorry, for signing up early as a judge, I thought the May 12 start date was for nom's only. I'll be sure to sign up later tonight. Have a good one, Chuck(척뉴넘) 22:08, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

Don't worry about it! The message on the page wasn't actually that clear, it's just what has been done in the past. Have fun being a judge! -- Natalya 23:06, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the message. Just wanted to let you know (hopefully to prevent a conflict (even that would be doubtful since we're all Esperanzians :) )) that the spammer positiion has been signed up for by two people. The first person signed up befoer the 12th UTC, and the second person signed up afterwards. The first person has since deleted the first person from the list. Have a good day/night, and sorry to present you with another problem. Chuck(척뉴넘) 02:06, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
You know, I just noticed that you're not the overseer (my mistake). Sorry then if you weren't the right person to tell, maybe you could let them know then. Thanks, Chuck(척뉴넘) 02:09, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks for moving

Thanks for moving my "thank you" message - I was being pretty careless... Kukini has two links on her name - only one leading to her profile pagel; now I noticed it. I misclicked and wrote in the wrong section... :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Knakts (talkcontribs)

No problem, you're most welcome! The other link led to Esperanza, which is where you ended up posting. -- Natalya 19:15, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

Dance Dance Revolution rocks... I know this pretty is random... Did you come up with that, because it's cool... I'm tempted to put it on my userpage... I like ellipses... Tingle 00:27, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

It's actually a quote from the movie V for Vendetta... :) -- Natalya 01:31, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
I've been meaning to read that... I guess I'll put the quote on my userpage once I do read it! 20:16, 15 May 2006 (UTC) The Hero of Time!

Request for Adminship
Thank you for supporting/objecting/tropicanising me in my request for Adminship. Although I wasn't promoted to admin status, with a final vote count of 14/27/12, I am very happy with the response I received from my fellow Wikipedians. I was pleasantly suprised at the support, and was touched by it. I will also work harder on preventing disputes and boosting my edit count (which is on the up), so thank you to all your objectors. Hopefully I will re-apply soon and try again for the mop. Thanks again, Highway Rainbow Sneakers

[edit] Diaphragm disambiguation

Hi there. I noticed the great tidying up job you did at diaphragm. Thanks for that. One thing I did want to discuss was the removal of this bit here: "diaphragm - a general anatomical term used to describe dividing structures of various natures, found in some gasteromycetes and bryozoans, and in several areas of the human body (eg. urogenital diaphragm, eardrum, pelvic diaphragm, iris)". It was confusion over this meaning of diaphragm that originally led me to expand the disambiguation page, and I note that the wikitionary entry does not have this definition. What is the best way to deal with this? At the very least, I think that links to urogenital diaphragm and pelvic diaphragm should remain on the disambiguation page, with possibly the iris entry going under the dab thing for optical diaphragm and the eardrum entry under the one for acoustic diaphragm, as the current disambiguation descriptions of optical and acoustic diaphragms use technical descriptions and fail to mention the anatomical examples of optical and acoustic diaphragms - all of which would help people disambiguate correctly.

Another disambiguation page that might benefit from tidying up is shutter. Currently I have that divided into sections, which is, I believe, acceptable per MoS:DP#Longer lists. But one of the links is piped, which I believe is not accepted style. Trouble is, the naked link shows a "#" link character, and I don't know whether that is acceptable! Any advice would be appreciated. Carcharoth 21:21, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for bringing this up! I mistakenly thought that I saw the Wiktionary entry having those definitions, but I'm glad you know that they don't, because they are important to include in the page, in that case. I've modified Diaphragm, and I think it should be satisfactory - I added the links to Urogenital diaphragm and Pelvic diaphragm, and then separated some of the entries out. I separated out body related ones, optics related ones, and left the rest in "Other", since I couldn't think of any other good separation categories. If there are other good categories, please go ahead and separate out more! This way seems like it provides all the information, but doesn't make the page too overwhelming. -- Natalya 12:56, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
As for shutter, it was a good idea to separate out the sections. Since the list isn't super long, per the longer lists section of the MoS, I changed the headers to be smaller. For the piping in the 'Movie projector shutter' link, it seems appropriate to pipe the link there; this is an occasion where it is worthwile to link to a specific section of the article, and you're right, you definitly don't want the actual syntax of the link showing up. I made a few other minor changes per MoS:DP, but it looks really good! Keep up the work :) And let met know if you have any other questions. -- Natalya 13:26, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

You are going to love what I've found here. Another disambiguation mess! Have a look at membrane. I've just put a disambig tag on it, so I guess it won't show up at Wikipedia:Disambiguation_pages_with_links. It has over 200 entries pointing at it that will need to be dabbed... Is there a good way to add it to the "dab pages with links" list? Carcharoth 13:33, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

That is lovely :) I've added the disambig-cleanup tag to it, so it will at least show up on Category:Disambiguation pages in need of cleanup. Unfortuately, you can't manually add it to the list, and will have to wait until the next dump occurs, but you can always mention something about it at Wikipedia talk:Disambiguation pages with links. -- Natalya 13:37, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
Already done! Thanks. Must get on now... Carcharoth 13:39, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Obviousness

Hi Natalya. Thanks so much for your apology. It is always really nice when someone does that. Sorry on my part too if I was a bit terse with my reply. It is so easy to misunderstand people in a place as big as Wikipedia, and I shouldn't have had the expectation that everyone knows where I've been here or what I know (still learning every day). [edit] Talk:Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Help, I'm being weighed down by some editors of the anti-prose society. (le sigh) There is a list of unveiled characters in the Super Smash Bros. Brawl article and I want to keep the list as prose (makes sense, the Manual of Style says it should be prose, it looks better, it has more detail and it receives less vandalism) but some want to keep it as a list because "other articles have it that way". Please help, Highway Rainbow Sneakers 21:47, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for noting on my talk page about it, Eric did a fine job. (aha! list no more ; ) Hope you have a great birthday (I will find something obscure to give). I was wondering, are you still thinking about adminship, I can understand if you think you're not ready, but I'm sure you'd make a fine adminastrator. [edit] Nurse Joy

Hey, I linked this in Torchic today, thinking it was still an article, and found out that Nurse Joy redirected to List of Pokémon characters. I was reminded of Nurse Joy's AfD a while back, and dug up the result, which I think was mis judged.

"The AfD decision was 4 - Keep, 4 - Redirect and 1 - Merge and Keep. That is about equal, which results in No Consensus."

I reverted the redirect, since there was a good stub there, and it got reverted by someone (User:Zetawoof) claiming to abide the AfD decision, which was misjudged. He then told me to go to Deletion Peer Review, which is to do with un-deleting rather than appealing rulings so I have no clue what to do. PS, sorry for bugging you again, Highway Rainbow Sneakers 21:46, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

Hey, don't worry about it, it's your birthday! The fact that I used a template rather than writing a whole, full on message (I mean, hey, if I'd put my mind to it, I probably could've come up with a poem for the occaison) kinda makes me feel as if I'm not doing enough work, so sorry about that (at least it looks pretty...). You know, of all the people I've wished 'happy birthday' to, you're the first to have thanked me!

STOP lying on Wikipedia, no wonder you were rejected to become an adimistrator. Your trying to act like an administrator but your ruining it for everybody. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Iloveminun (talkcontribs) .

What should I do? Highway Rainbow Sneakers 19:44, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

I dropped a little message by Iloveminun's talk page,
Please stop leaving counter-productive messages on my talk page, I was not trying to act like an adminastrator, I was trying to be an editor. If you want to comment on a wrong doing of mine, either explain it in a civilised manner, or take it to the relevant station in Wikipedia law, if I made such a wrong doing. I feel no compassion for "PokemonFan", especially since he and you are one of the same. Please refrain from commenting on my talk page again unless you have something constructive to say. Regards, Highway Rainbow Sneakers 15:04, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
He dropped another message, he tried to make me feel sorry for his sockpuppet... Right. How goes Admin to be life (Will you be admin coach? ;) Highway Rainbow Sneakers 15:07, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
I think you know more than most admins already. You could teach me about the user side of Wikipedia and I could go through FAC and crud. And we could scam the system by nomming articles for each other. Mwhahaha Highway Rainbow Sneakers 21:26, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
I just called Iloveminun an ass in my talk archive guide thing, mainly because he posted "Never trust HighwayCello" on an article talk page. I'm never going to make admin, I can't even get an FA because the community despises me. ; ) Highway Rainbow Sneakers 21:36, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for the comment, (those articles have some incredibly dodgy areas in them, which makes me all the madder about this) your comment has hopely given the calming effect that you provide. And no, no such things exist (I spent an hour decoding Japanese and it was about a toy convention - trust me it doesn't exist). Highway Rainbow Sneakers 23:03, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

I wish you the best of luck. I just finished mine last week. XD I won't have to bother for a while, someone is driving an anti-admin sentiment throughout the community. It is like dealing with a five year old. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 23:23, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
