Fair use is justified in Marine Stewardship Council because:
- The logo is of the organization that is the subject of the article
- Presentation of the logo in the article provides value to the reader, in that it helps to identify the council
- It also describes the logo more fully than a text description could
- The logo is sufficiently low resolution that improper downstream use is minimized
- Use here does not impede the usage, including commercial usage, of the logo by its owner
Fair use is justified in Ecolabel because:
- The logo—or a group of similar logos collectively—is the subject of the article, which presents critical discussion of the logo
- Presentation of the logo in the article is critical, because it is the subject of discussion
- Points 3–5 as above
