The Mitsubishi Concept-cX is a concept car developed by Japanese automaker Mitsubishi Motors, and first exhibited at the 62nd Frankfurt Motor Show in July 2007.[1][2] It was also exhibited at the 40th Tokyo Motor Show in September the same year.[3]
Designed for the growing mini crossover SUV market niche, promotional material for the car concentrated heavily on its environmentally friendly attributes. It is powered by a 1.8 litre four cylinder turbodiesel engine, mated to the company's new SST twin-clutch transmission, and meets the Euro V 2009 European emission standards.[4] Much of the interior trim uses Mitsubishi's Green Plastic, a plant-based resin material not derived from petroleum as traditional plastics are.[1] An eventual production version of the Concept-cX would face rivals such as the Daihatsu Terios, Suzuki SX4 and Toyota Urban Cruiser.
