Matt Kirshen (b. 1980) is a British comedian. He started his career at the end of 2001[1]. Kirshen is a frequent performer at The Comedy Store, among other clubs. He's even gone on several university tours. He was the winner of the 2003 Hackney Empire New Act of the Year. Kirshen has performed around the world, including Singapore, Dubai, Holland, Germany, and France. In 2007, he was one of the final seven comics in NBC's reality TV show Last Comic Standing. Kirshen is best known for his jokes poking fun of his young appearances, often linking them to paedophiles.

- Matt is an Ashkenazi Jew, but is now completely non-observant. He is also an atheist.
- Matt is from North London.
- Matt attended Merchant Taylors' School, Northwood. After which, he read Mathematics at Clare College, Cambridge, where he edited a weekly student newsletter, Clareification, in which students mocked Cambridge traditions, satirized the events of the week, reported on silly student antics and spread college gossip. This was where he first started writing comedy before beginning standup.
- Matt started standup in Clare College cellars, becoming well known within Cambridge college comedy before expanding elsewhere. He compered Clare Comedy nights during the latter years of his degree and continued to return as guest compere for several years after graduation.
