Maryland Route 228 (sometimes called Berry Road) is an east-west divided four-lane state highway which is a major link connecting Maryland Route 210 in Accokeek with Waldorf. Route 228 terminates at the intersection of Route 301 and Maryland Route 5. Most of the highway runs through Charles County, Maryland; the remainder is in Prince George's County, Maryland.
As of January, 2008, The intersection of Routes 210 and 228 is one of only six continuous-flow intersections (CFIs) in the United States. The CFI was built in 2000.
