The community is located in the Capital Region. It is directly north of Albany, New York.
[edit] Law and Government
Loudonville is officially a hamlet within the Town of Colonie. Colonie Town Hall, the William K. Sanford Library, one of Albany, NY's reservoirs, and the North Colonie School District offices are located in Loudonville.
[edit] Demographics
Loudonville is largely an upper middle class community. Property values are generally higher than those of surrounding areas.
[edit] Economy
Loudonville is home to most of the corporate executives of Corporate Woods, the area's doctors, and other white collared workers.[citation needed]
Loudonville also is home to Schuyler Meadows, a country club with members from all over the capital district.
However, Loudonville is unique. Most of the hamlet has no businesses at all. Most all of the businesses it does have are located on Albany Shaker Road. Businesses are not given permits to move into other parts of the hamlet. However, a gas station, dentist, real estate agent, a deli and a few assisted living homes have been able to move into areas traditionally without businesses.
