From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

KillerSteve [Kill-er-Ste-ve] comes from the words Killer and Steve, Killer meaning "a person that kills" and Steve being a name derived from Stephen. So in literal terms it means "a person that kills called Stephen". Someone named like this must have acheived a great number of kills since he would only be given such a name if he had killed enough to constitute for it.

[edit] Beginings

The name KillerSteve is the Online-Identity of a great gamer, made in the summer of 2003 by a 12 year old British boy. It originates from the Xbox game Halo and more specifically the map Damnation. After losing to his brother for a score of 15-25, the boy decided he would be better if he improved his name to KillerSteve, rather than Steve. The next match took place on Blood Gulch, with a score of 25-20 to KillerSteve meaning the name had improved his skills leading to the name being used from then until the present.

[edit] Xbox

KillerSteve spent the next few months improving his gaming skills on the Xbox. In these months it was offline games because there were very few xbox live titles on the market. However, with the release of Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow then Xbox live became involved in his rigrious training. The name he went under was Sushing since Microsoft thought the name KillerSteve would be too biased towards whoever used it. He perefected a techinque on the level "Museum" on the game type "Sabotage". This lead to him being the top player at sabotage for a week; however soon after his teammate stopped playing Splinter Cell leading to the downfall of the beatuiful teamwork and partnership.

The next game that he played was Counter-strike on Xbox, with his real life friend MontePyton. The team worked well togeather wining countless games with little effort. To this day they still play togeather however counter-strike isn't the game of choice. After months of playing counter-strike,in early 2004, the pair got bored of just playing the game normally and resorted to glitches and ways to get out of levels. A few worked but most of their attempts were in vain, leading to the death of the game in their eyes. However, just round the corner was a game which would change KillerSteves life forever.

[edit] Halo 2

Halo 2 came out on the 11th November 2004 in England, and was initially played on single player by KillerSteve. However, that was beaten in a day on heroic so he moved onto the xbox live side of the game. To begin with the game was easy because he was a low level in matchmaking so he could easily get up ranks. In this time he met new people who he liked and disliked, alot of Americans insulted him for his British accent leading to a dislike for many of them in the game. He played with his real life friends : Montepython, CreepKid and Cottrell. KillerSteve was the second best out of these with Cottrell and his competative nature being the best. After reaching rank 28, KillerSteve reached his limit ,at the age of 13, which was promising for his future.

KillerSteve then spent the early part of 2005 playing custom games in games modes such as: Zombies, Glitches and Real Life. In one of these games he met a person who would become a great friend in the future called Gmot. To begin with there was friction because Gmot called KillerSteve "Cottrells Bitch" Leading to much hate. However, when KillerSteve had stopped playing matchmaking he made friends with Gmot and his layed back attitude. They spent alot of time just talking and Gmot trying to make KillerSteve buy World of Warcraft for his PC. KillerSteve kept saying he would but never did leading to the two talking less. One day Gmot gave up Halo 2 and deleted all his friends; however, KillerSteve perciveard till he added him to his friends list and then MSN leading to them being friends ever since.

After this KillerSteve played other games such as Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3 and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory but neither gave him the same thrill as Halo 2, leading to his return in Summer 2005. He spent this time making glitching videos in Halo 2 Campaign, he released them on the website High Impact Halo .They recived cult fame and eventually got him onto the front page of the website, the highest success a tricker can get. However, after his first 6 videos he had no idea what to do next leading to him drifting off the site and back onto Xbox Live Matchmaking.

In this period of matchmaking, he met a player by the name of Blackthunder57. Initally, KillerSteve insulted his voice but in the next match they were teamed togeather and had a good time. They added each other to their friends lists and began playing togeather. They were joined by one of Blackthunder57s friends called Seb and by KillerSteve's Friend CreepKid. They played togeather until late 2005 when the Xbox 360 was launched. This console was brought by Blackthunder57 and Seb while KillerSteve and Creepkid decided to stop playing Xbox live bringing about the end of Halo 2s hold on them and 2005. However, Creepkid had encouraged KillerSteve to move onto the ultimate games system, the Computer.

[edit] Comptuer Gaming

In Febuary 2006, after 2 months of deciding, the 14 year old KillerSteve purchased a computer that was middle of the range at that time. It's main components were were:

It wasn't high in the range of coumputers out at the time; however, it was good enough to play alot of games at high graphics at the time it was purchased.

[edit] First Games

He purchased a single game for it Half-life 2, this game came with a few single player games and the multiplayer game Counter-Strike:Source. This would be the basis of KillerSteve's computer gaming for 3 months. He played Counter-Strike:Source with his friends: MR CROW (formerly CreepKid),SouthPaw and brother Mapinguary. They had played the original Counter-strike giving them an advantage over KillerSteve. However, over the 3 months he became quiet adept in the game.

During this time he purchased The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and found out his computer lacked the power to play the game at full grpahics or at a high frame rate without having low graphics. However, he continuted to play until the end of the game even with a frame rate of around 10 Frames Per Second. Even though it was only 2 months after he brought his computer, he still was considering an upgrade. The game was a grat RPG and KillerSteve only left the game after he reached level 30 and had explored most of the land. Compared to other games out the game still makes him want to improve his computer just to play it again.

When the game was beaten he returned to Steam where his friends would tell him to play World of Warcraft, saying it was like Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion but online. KillerSteve managed to hold out from this game until May 2006 when his friend persuaded him to play the game with the 10 day free trial. He had heard stories of how it could ruin your life and steal all your money, but he didn't understand fully till he started playing during Easter.

[edit] World of Warcraft

KillerSteve started on World of Warcraft as a Tauren Druid on the relm Balnazzar, EU. The reason for this choice was because alot of his and his brother friends were on the server as Horde so he wanted to play with them. However, they were all already at level 30+ so catching up would take him a while. He was also insulted by the people who he was trying to catch up to with them saying druids sucked. He got to level 10 without really understanding the game, he didn't know druids could cast spells until level 6. However, when he reached level 10 and learnt bear form the game began to make more sence. He put his talents in Balance to begin with as he thought the Moonkin form would be amazing. However, he soon found himself healing and so lied about his spec to allow him more instance runs.

At Level 36 he had caught up to his friends: Trattus and MR CROW, in 6 weeks(June 2006). However, they were playing the game slowly so he continuted at his fast pase and ended up overtaking them. At level 40, he brought a mount and then had Moonkin form which he thought was amazing. When people saw him they would laugh because of its comical look to it but he took no notice.

[edit] Downfall

However, after a days hard gaming KillerSteve went off for a few hours R&R. When he returned his computer had gone to blue screen and his hard drive had become corrupt getting rid of all his files. After a few hours trying to fix it, he knew it was no good and sent it to be repaired at the cost of his memory. The reason for the problem was the hard drive had become corrupted and when a certain amount of data was on it the computer would save on the corrupted file causing a blue screen and memory wipe. This cause problems later as the company who made the computer, Mesh computers, didn't resolve the issue properly.

It took 3 weeks before the Computer was returned but in that time KillerSteve's skills had diminished more than ever before leaving him at a disadvantage to the world of gamers meaning he would have to work harder to reach his goal of being a Pro gamer.

[edit] The Return of Warcraft

After the computer was returned in July 2006 the first thing installed was World of Warcraft. He decided he should now spend the summer reaching level 60 and in late August he acheived that goal. He was in a guild called Hells Crusaders at the time and they had started raiding when KillerSteve was level 56. However, they still allowed KillerSteve to come since they could see his obvious talents and skills. They had managed to get to the raptor boss in Zul'Gurub before the guild fraid and the leaders left. However, KillerSteve was invited by some of the leaders to join them as an alt. Alliance player. He agreed as he hadn't played Alliance yet.

He made a Dwarf Hunter called Anoobus on a Role playing server and played there till level 23 with 4 other people. They made up a good squad and had raided Wailing Caverns and Shadow Fang Keep but ended up stopping just afterwards. KillerSteve then returned to playing as his Druid as it was "more fun". During trip on the zepplin, he was asked by a fellow Druid if he wished to join his guild. KillerSteve agreed and he was back to raiding again in a few days.
