Human Rights and Democracy Movement

The Human Rights and Democracy Movement is a political party in Tonga, led by Uliti Uata. At the last legislative elections, on 17 March 2005, the party won 7 of the 9 people's deputies. Despite being the largest political force in the country, it is not in government, since there are 21 more deputies, 9 members elected for a three year term by the nobles, 10 members of the Privy Council and 2 governors.
