Ghost Train was a television programme on CITV, every Saturday morning from 1990 to December 31, 1992 when TV-am ended after nine years.
The series concept involved presenter Frances inheriting the Ghost Train from her Grandmother. With the help of her mates Paul and Sabra she sneaks it from the grasp of the evil Barry Mafia and makes her escape. Inside is a startled Gerard, the aliens' favourite broadcaster, and a camp sounding talking sheep, named Nobby. They are afraid, very afraid, for Barry Mafia is after them aided by the Mafiaettes.
As Barry hatched several schemes, the trio of friends used the Ghost Train as a platform for special guests, live performances from top artists, and host series such as Scooby Doo and The Real Ghostbusters. At the end of season two, Barry finally regained control of the Train, but would lose it back to Frances in season three. The series ended on a cliffhanger, with the crew exiled to an alien planet.
Nobby would resurface on the following series Gimme 5, but this did not resolve the cliffhanger.
