Just making it more clear here, the roasts shown on comedy central in the years 1998 through 2002 were Friars Club roasts. The Friars club had nothing to do with the likes of Denis Leary, Jeff Foxworthy, Pamela Anderson, or William Shatner. These roasts were all done by Comedy Central and Comedy Central only. Please stop attributing these to the Friars Club.

[edit] Split the Page

If the Friar's Club in New York City is in no way affilliated with the Friar's Club of Beverly Hills, why not make them two separate entries?

I agree, this article is quite confusing otherwise. I will add a proposal for splitting the article to the main page. --pmppk 21:27, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
I also agree, it DOES seem confusing because the page starts by dicussing the history of The Friar's Club of Beverly Hills then mentions that it is not associated with the New York Friar's Club. Listed under Roast it talks about the risqueness of both clubs then says the club says .... My question is, which club are they talking about now? Because the next sentence then goes on to list all of New York's roasts. Metamorphousthe 17:22, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
So.... since nobody really seems to have contributed to this discussion since February, can we assume that the consensus is to split the page? pmppk 19:29, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

I split the articles into two, but I'm not sure how well I did it, so can someone please take a look at each page and verify it? — HelloAnnyong [ t · c ] 23:10, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Link goes to wrong Joey Adams

The link for Joey Adams gets redirected to Joey Lauren Adams, a talented actress born in 1968. I do not think she is the Borscht Belt comedian who was inducted into the Friars Club in 1977 and wrote the book Borscht Belt in 1973. Did the redirect from Joey Adams to Joey Lauren Adams wipe out a previous article on the older Joey Adams? Or, was there never a Wikipedia article on the Borscht Belt comedian Joey Adams? r3 22:00, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

I took care of this by making Joey Adams a stub. Perhaps you (or someone else) could expand on it? --pmppk 21:22, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
