Empress Zhang (Liu Shan, later)

Empress Zhang (張皇后, personal name unknown) was an empress of Shu Han during the Three Kingdoms period. She was the daughter of Zhang Fei and his wife Lady Xiahou, and the second wife of Liu Shan, the second emperor of Shu Han. Liu Shan's first wife was her sister, and after her sister's death in 237, Liu Shan took her as an imperial consort. The next year (238), he created her empress to succeed her sister. Empress Zhang appeared to have had no children. After the empire fell to Cao Wei in 263, she was relocated to the Cao Wei capital Luoyang with her husband. As her husband was created the Duke of Anle, she became duchess. It is not known when she died.
