Blanchard Elementary, located on Weems Road, offers pre-kindergarten to fifth grade classes. Blanchard Elementary student Handley Boyd is responsible for the flag that flew over the Pentagon on the |US Army's 227th birthday celebration on June 14th, 2002.

Double Churches Elementary School is an elementary school located on Double Churches Road Columbus, Georgia. Currently, DCES teaches students from pre-kindergarten to fifth grade. Usually, students who go to DCES for fifth grade move across the road to Double Churches Middle School for sixth grade through eighth grade.

==Arnold Magnet Academy is a middle school in Columbus Georgia. It was selected as a Georgia School of Excellence.

[edit] Blackmon Road Middle School

Blackmon Road Middle School has been open for more than 10 years. They won the PAGE Academic Bowl for the 2006-2007 School year and won 5th in state. For the 2007-2008 school year, they have so far won first place in the district level, and are competing at regionals in January of 2008. The teams were coached by Mrs. Pat Davis.

Double Churches Middle School is a middle school located at 7611 Whitesville Road, Columbus, Georgia. DCMS is relatively new compared to other middle schools of Columbus, Georgia on account of it opening in 2000.

There are many after school activities at DCMS. Some of them are: The Math Counts Team, the Science Olympiad Team, the Chess Club, and sports.

[edit] Double Churches Middle School Academic Bowl Team

The DCMS Academic Bowl Team comprises eight to ten students who compete against other schools in a quiz bowl format.

DCMS students compete against other schools in the area for a chance to compete at the state level or maybe even the nationals. The team is made up of only the top math students from the school.

[edit] DCMS Science Olympiad Team

A team of student selected from test scores who compete in the various events of Science Olympiad.

[edit] Richards Middle School

Richards Middle School is a public school within the Muscogee County School District with an enrollment of about 750 students.

Richards was established around the early to mid 1950s as one of the most prestigious middle schools in the city. Richards was a segregated school during its first few years, but after the United States Supreme Court madated that all schools were to be integrated in 1954, following its ruling that the doctrine, "separate but equal" was not true, Richards became an integrated school.

In 2004, Richards incorporated a new magnet program, the International Baccalaureate Programme (I.B.). The introduction of this program boosted the school's grade average and attracted many students.

St. Elmo is located in Columbus, Georgia near Lakebottom Park and across the street from Columbus High School. This school, unlike most other schools in the Muscogee County School District, require high grades and, before enrollment, students must satisfactorily pass a test on both factual knowledge and creativity.

St. Elmo teaches elementary students one day a week. Students' classes are grouped together in two grades (i.e. 2nd and 3rd in a class, 4th and 5th in a class). St. Elmo's grading period is in trimester style where each trimester is 12 weeks.
