Mainly Two parties are present in Dhone. Telugu Desam Party and Congress Party Present MLA is Sujathamma who is a wife of Surya Prakash Reddy who is a son of former chief minister Sri Kotla Vijayabhasker Reddy.Former MLA was KE Prabhakar who is a TDP leader. Sujathamma is very hard working and done lot of good things for Dhone.

The former name of Dhone was Dronachalam. Dhone is one of the biggest municipality in Kurnool district.Even though the limestone available in it is Andhra Pradesh's first grade ranked than that of Piduguralla, its operation has been stopped which should be answered by the politicians of this place. When considering transportation, Dhone is well connected to the nearby cities like Kurnool &Anantapur as well as towns like Nandyal & Gooty through the roadway and railway. Concerned to railways it is the one and only one junction in the Kurnool district. As it is a junction, there are two railway gates in the middle of the town which are not even 50–60 meters apart. Because of this, the traffic here is more frustrating for the people living here. A flyover had been on the newspapers from the past but not in existence.
The specialty of Dhone in Kurnool district is that it is the only junction in this district and also presence of a Hanuman temple, a Masjid, a Church on a single hill and also 'A' grade limestone available here.
Regarding the railways we have trains connecting to Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai metropolitans. We also have trains to Kurnool town, Guntur & Vijayawada via Nandyal town & Gooty in Anantapur district. Amravati super fast & Prasanthi express connects this to Vijayawada on one side & Bangalore on other side. There is also a train which connects to Chennai (Chennai- Egmore Express)

Concerned to entertainment there is no recreation park nor sightseeing places. But there are 8 theatres out of which only 4 theatres are running. 1.Raja 2.Yuvaraja 3.Srirama 4.Raghavendra 5.Venkateswara 6.Vijaya 7.Srinivasa 8.Shegu The first four are running and the next four theatres are close. They are very dirty, and by looking at them anyone can say that they are the tent hall theatres of these times.Few Dhabas are present in the out skirts of the town ,which provide nice food , A1 Dhaba ( Reliance Petrol bunk ) is nice place to enjoy . Recently, one bigger restaurant has been opened with the name Sampoorna near to Andhra Bank which serves good food and we can hang out there with our family.
