Robert W. "Bob" Voigts was the 18th head college football coach for the Northwestern University Wildcats located in Evanston, Illinois and he held that position for eight seasons, from 1947 until 1954. His career coaching record at Northwestern was 33 wins, 39 losses, and 1 ties. This ranks him sixth at Northwestern in total wins and 12th at Northwestern in winning percentage. [1] Voigts led the Wildcats to their first Rose Bowl in 1948 (played January 1, 1949) where they defeated California by a score of 20 to 14.[2]
