"Ben Franklin" is the fourteenth episode of the third season of the US version of The Office. It aired on February 1, 2007. It was written by Mindy Kaling and directed by series cinematographer Randall Einhorn.[1]

[edit] Synopsis
The office plays host to a bridal shower for Phyllis while the warehouse is the location of Bob Vance's bachelor party. Todd Packer convinces Michael that it's okay to hire a stripper for the bachelor party if he also gets a male stripper for the bridal shower.
Jim is tired at work because he has been having many "late-night talks" with Karen after she learned that he still has feelings for Pam.
Michael delegates the work of finding the two strippers to Dwight and Jim. While Dwight successfully locates a stripper for Bob Vance's party, Jim orders an educational Benjamin Franklin impersonator (Andrew Daly). Pam and Karen have fun gently heckling the impersonator. In the break room, they share an awkward conversation about Jim and Karen's relationship.
At the bachelor party, Bob Vance refuses a lap dance, so Michael volunteers, but then brings the show to an abrupt close, unwilling to cheat on Jan.
Pam and Jim have an understated confrontation in the break room, which ends with Pam asking Ryan to set her up with some of his business-school buddies in front of a visibly shocked and upset Jim.

The Season Three DVD contains a number of deleted scenes. Notable cut scenes include:
- Todd Packer obnoxiously hits on Pam, who avoids him by answering a pretend phone call.
- Michael explains that throwing a bachelor party is one of the things that every man should know how to do.
- Michael sends Toby home.
- Extension of the "gray area" scene with Ben Franklin.
- Michael presses Darryl to promise that he'll have the warehouse ready in time for the stripper.
- Extension of the scene in which Dwight tries to determine whether Ben Franklin is real or not.

- Oscar does not appear in this episode, despite returning in the previous episode, "The Return". Also absent are Andy, who is in anger management training,[2] and Toby, who is "sent home by Michael" so that he wouldn't know about the strippers.
- Dwight disrupts Michael's video in the same way that he disrupts Michael's Diversity Tomorrow video in "Diversity Day".
