[edit] Biography
The band recorded 3 albums with Talmi, Granda, and Heisler. 2004's Perpetual Motion, a mixture of pop-punk and funk, was influenced primarily by the bands Blink 182 and Red Hot Chili Peppers. In 2006 Channel released the album Inch Deep Oceans, which was supported by their first tour around the Northeast United States and Canada. Part of the tour was with the Eric Eggleston Band from Ottawa.
Three of the songs from Inch Deep Oceans made it onto the initial ballot in the category Best Rock Performance By A Duo or Group with Vocal for the 49th and 50th annual Grammy Awards. Their most notable musical qualities are Talmi's often effeminate vocals and Granda's unorthodox bass parts, two qualities they embraced on their 2007 release Androgyny is In.
Shorty after the release of the Innocence/Experience EP it was announced that the original bassist, Luis Granda, would be leaving the band along with the drummer, Brandon Lewis. Brandon is preparing to rejoin his childhood dream as a professional skier in Colorado and Luis Granda has given up bass playing, selling all his equipment and joining his girlfriends acoustic rock band.
Ben has been accepted into the Berklee College of Music in Boston and looks forward to moving the home base for the band to Boston MA.
