Anders Colsefni, (real name Andrew Rouw; born, 1972) is an American musician and singer. He was the original lead vocalist and co-founder of the nu metal group Slipknot. He was replaced by Corey Taylor after their self-released debut, Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat. Before Slipknot he was in two other bands, VeXX and Inveigh Catharsis. Then Anders formed Painface. After the demise of Painface he was in the band during On A Pale Horse with former Slipknot bandmate Josh Brainard. Despite leaving Slipknot, he retains a good friendship with DJ Sid Wilson.
After MFKR, Slipknot believed that, in order to be signed to a major label, they needed a more radio friendly voice (they said Anders' growl was like Max Cavalera's), so they recruited Corey Taylor, although Anders switched to percussion and backup vocals for a while after Taylor joined the band. Colsefni later left the band prior to their recording contract with Roadrunner Records.

[edit] Recent activity
Anders was in a band named Vice Grip Throttle from 2004 to 2007, and they already recorded their eponymous self-titled album. Once they had run an Internet contest to determine a new name for the band. Visitors of their homepage submitted a band name that they came up with, and the band should use that name. The prize for the winner of the contest was a bundle of things (See website for more information). But instead of using that name, "Vice Grip Throttle" decided to stick with their temporary name, despite the "Rename VGT" contest, saying that "It just makes too much sense, considering our style and personalities."
Vice Grip Throttle has supposedly broken up as of July 18th, 2007; however, Anders has stated on their official that he does not know if the remaining members will continue VGT.
According to his MySpace page, Painface will be reuniting in 2008.
[edit] Mask
In place of wearing a mask like most Slipknot members, Anders wore electrical tape on his face, paint on his flesh, and a fur skin skirt. The tape was inspired from Dogfish Rising, where Shawn rips tape to make a special noise. The get-up was only worn on special occasions.

[edit] Facts
- His first "real" job was at McDonalds, after he had a paper route.
- During his stint with Slipknot, Colsefini wrote the majority of the lyrics. Much of the lyrics and even the title from Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat. were based inspired a pen-and-paper roleplaying game Werewolf: The Apocalypse, which Slipknot was a fan of.
